You are not alone. According to the Maricopa Association of Governments, in 2024 alone, there were 24,562 domestic violence hotline phone calls in Maricopa County, with 84 documented domestic violence-related fatalities across Arizona. Economic abuse is widely recognized as a primary control mechanism used by abusers. It often prevents victims from leaving, increasing risk over time.
